National judo squad en route to Hungary

TEHRAN, Aug. 26 (MNA) – Four Iranian judo practitioners left Tehran for Budapest Saturday morning in order to take part at World Judo Championships.

The Iranian judo outfit, comprising Mohammad Reshnunejad, Mohammad Mahdi Brimanloo, Saeid Molaei and Ramin Safavieh, will be led by Mohammad Mansouri at the World Championships.

The prestigious event will kick off on Monday August 28 while the draw ceremony is slated to be held on Sunday evening.

Judo practitioners at -60kg weight category will meet rivals on the opening day of the tournament. Reshnunejad will be therefore the first athlete to represent Iran in the sportive extravaganza.

The 2017 World Judo Championships will be held in Budapest, Hungary, between 28 August and 3 September 2017 at László Papp Budapest Sports Arena in Budapest, Hungary.

The sport’s annual seven-day extravaganza will be organized by the International Judo Federation and Hungarian Judo Association.
